Conditioning Guide for Lackluster Curls

Conditioning Guide for Lackluster Curls

Are you noticing that your curls are looking lackluster? If so, perhaps it is time to reassess the protein vs moisture in your curl routine. Like our bodies, we require a balanced diet to enhance and maintain our curl health. What can be tricky is finding the right protein and moisture balance for you and your curls.

Protein vs Moisture

Sometimes your curls crave more hydration which is where our Coconut Almond Smoothing Conditioner comes in handy. This is a protein-free conditioner that smoothes the cuticles and encourages definition in your curls. Limp, flat and lifeless curls are usually a sign that a protein pick-me-up is needed to revive them and bring back their natural shine. We recommend our Quinoa Repair Deep Conditioner as a weekly treatment or as a regular rinse out for curls that crave protein.

Signs of too much protein are if your curls feel dry and brittle. Breakage can be a result of putting too much protein into your hair so remedy this with our moisturising Coconut Almond Smoothing Conditioner.

Both our moisture and protein balancing conditioners pair perfectly with our Hibiscus Pink Cleansing Clay-Wash

Curls that need a pick me up in between wash days?

A lovely treat to revive your curls and add a little moisture between wash days is a curl refresh with our Miracle Maca Moisture Balm or the Avocado Kokum Curl Defining Smoothie. These are a great pick me up if you need to rehydrate and combat frizz. Apply to dry hair using the praying hands method mid-shaft to the ends of your curls then smooth the rest onto the crown of your head. If you have medium to coarse curls add a little Inca Radiance Smoothing Elixir  to dry hair for an extra dose of shine.
